The Aardvark Stone Spreader
A Unique Method of Aggregate Delivery
The stone spreader is a unique way of transporting and placing material normally conveyed by tipper.
The conventional way of delivering aggregates in the UK
is by tipper wagon where normally 16 or 20 tonnes of
material is carried to the site and tipped from the
tailgate of the tipper vehicle into a heap on the floor.
Material is then moved and placed in the exact location
required by using a small dumper or a Caterpillar. Or if
you are really unlucky, several men with wheelbarrows.
The Stone Spreader is a revolutionary way of delivering
and placing bulk materials. Firstly, the conveyor is moved
into position so that the material is placed in exactly the
location required by the contractor.
Material is then tipped onto the bottom feed conveyor
by using a controllable gate, ensuring that just the right
amount of material is dispatched.
Material then falls onto the moveable conveyor which
can throw the material distances up to 30 metres away at
a radius of 180 degrees from the location of the vehicle.
Therefore, not only can the stone spreader place material
precisely, it can also:
- Fill trenches
- Throw material over walls or into basements
- Throw material up embankments
- Backfill around fuel tanks
- Deliver material to locations conventional tipper
wagons cannot reach
- Perform multi drops of material at various
locations on the site
The stone spreader can accurately place:
- Crusher run
- MOT Type 1
- Pipe Bedding
- Fines
|
- Sand
- Gravel
- Bark and Mulch
- Top Soil

When buying materials to be tipped, often the focus is
on the cost of the raw material. The plant, time and
labour are not often considered when making a
buying decision.
By using the stone spreader, 18 tonnes of
material can be accurately placed within
10 minutes, offering you a huge saving in
time, plant and labour.
Although the Stone Spreader will be predominantly
used on construction sites, we have also identified
the benefits of the Stone Spreader in a number of
other applications:
- Deep cuttings and embankments
- Rail Projects
- Sewage Treatment Works
- Canal Towpaths
- Small landscaping areas on large grounds
- Electricity Substations
